Riva Del Garda Hosts Flicorno d’Oro and Upcoming Bike Festival
The sixth edition of the Flicorno d’Oro has successfully concluded, bringing 47 bands from across Europe to Trentino. The competition took place in Riva del Garda from April 7 to 11, offering numerous highly engaging concerts.
Meanwhile, the town is preparing for the upcoming eighth Bike Festival, scheduled from April 28 to May 1. After last year’s edition, which attracted over 15,000 visitors to Riva, the event will draw more than 5,000 bikers to the mountains that border the northern part of Lake Garda.
Most enthusiasts have already marked this date on their calendars. The Bike Festival has now established itself as the world’s largest spectacle for mountain biking. It offers not only excursions and races but also entertainment, shows, up-to-date information, the «flea market», and friendly staff presenting news and surprises.
Main Events and Competitions at the Bike Festival
Additionally, the well-known Bike Marathon Garda Trentino (117 kilometers), a breathtaking race that traverses the most beautiful routes of Garda Trentino and challenges even the most fierce athletes, will take place. The event will also feature dance evenings and spectacular shows.
Regarding cycling, attention should be given to the 25th edition of the Giro del Trentino, a race for professionals, which will be held in Arco from April 30 to May 3. The Gruppo Sportivo Alto Garda will revive this important international competition, which winds through the scenic valleys of Trentino.
The race — typically the last stage race before the Giro d’Italia, which will see Arco as the venue of one of its final stages this year — attracts some of the most competitive Italian and international teams each year, hailing from Spain, Belgium, USA, Austria, France, Switzerland, Netherlands, with about 200 top-tier riders participating.
