Bitek 2023: Enogastronomic Tourism Fair Highlights in Riva del Garda

Today (Friday) in Riva del Garda, at the Palafiera in the Baltera area, the Bitek, the International Fair of Enogastronomic Tourism, will begin. It will last three days, until Sunday evening. From 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., visitors can stroll among the stands, tasting authentic Italian and international products, discovering alternative tourist destinations. Regions, municipalities, agri-food consortia, and tourism promotion agencies will showcase their packages, made up of itineraries and delicacies. Numerous initiatives are scheduled. In the Isola del gusto, an area reserved for journalists, at 1 p.m. Gianfranco Vissani will present Alessandria’s cuisine: renowned wines (Brachetto d’Acqui, Gavi, Moscato, Timorasso, Barbera del Monferrato, Grignolino), dairy products (Montebore, cow and sheep milk cheese, Roccaverano goat cheeses), Ponzone’s kissed fillet, fagiolane beans, truffles, and sweets. France will also be present with Aveyron soups (made with legumes and duck confit), foie gras de canard, Armagnac, wild boar salami, cheeses, and «oreillettes». At 7:15 p.m., from the port, a 20th-century paddle boat will depart for a taste cruise. At 8 p.m., at the Hotel Centrale, the cuisine of the Adriatic region will be featured, with a reprise scheduled for tomorrow. Also tomorrow at 10 a.m., a conference on “Real and Virtual Networks for Promoting Trentino Products” will take place. The taste boat will depart again at 11:15 a.m. In the journalists’ area, Mantova province will be featured at 1 p.m., and Terni at 5 p.m. At 8 p.m., there will be an evening promoted by Oristano. Sunday marks the final day, with closing at 7 p.m. The 2001 edition’s novelty is the “la dispensa” section, consisting of small wooden huts offering ancient cured meats from Marche and Calabria, sweets, and jams. However, the Bitek will not only take place indoors at the Palafiera. Tomorrow and Sunday, from 11 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., in the beautiful Catena square in Riva, dedicated spaces will be set up to showcase Italian delicacies: Casumaro snails (Ferrara), fried fish from Marche, and more tastings to follow.
