Salògolosa 2023: Wine, Food, Culture, and Music in Salò
The event details
The fourth edition of «Salògolosa» will take place on Thursday, May 17th, from 6 PM to midnight. 48 wine producers are participating (12 from Franciacorta, the others from Valtenesi and Garda), 6 producers of extra virgin olive oil, 24 restaurants, 7 delicatessen shops, 3 pastry shops, and 18 musical groups that will position themselves at 51 different spots around the town — explains Angelo Dal Bon, the chief organizer of the event.
Salò will be filled with aromas, flavors, and music, during an itinerant dinner that will allow attendees to discover the most characteristic corners of the historic center, the old town. Those who purchase the pass, costing 90,000 lire, will be able to enjoy 20 wine tastings and three of extra virgin olive oil, along with four appetizers (choose from «Luccio alla portesina», «Coppa or pancetta di Valtidone», «Prosciutto di Langhirano», «Coregonus terrine», «Specialità di Sbalzer», «Long-aged Speck», «Micheli charcuterie», «Swordfish carpaccio with raspberry vinaigrette», «Filet battuta with fresh oregano»).

Activities and entertainment
Each participant will receive a pouch (a shopping bag) to wear around the neck, containing a glass, fork, spoon, plate, and a sailor hat, reminiscent of Venice and the times of the Serenissima. Boutiques, shops, trattorias, restaurants, private homes, wine cellars, and palaces will host a plate, a wine tasting, or a musical group.
There will be Brunetto, who won the karaoke final in Rome hosted by Fiorello, the Roveda duo, Ghisla – De Parè, Le Perfidie Armoniche, the duo Bertoldi, Matteo Paoli, Giovanni Bottavini, the Bertasio duo, Tiger-Dixie, Kalevala, Luca Lucini, the Ferroni quartet, the Tango duo, the Baldizzi trio, and Oliver duo.
Those who sing and play will perform on violin, viola, accordion, guitar, mandolin, harp, or flute. «Salò golosa» is a recipe that combines flavors and melodies — concludes Dal Bon.
Focus on culture and history
We aim to help people understand our lake’s history through culinary culture. The 2001 edition is dedicated to Gasparo, the inventor of the violin. The Cremona lutherie school will display about fifty panels and six dedicated paintings, dedicated to this instrument.
It is being set up by German composer Frieder Berthold, a German residing in Limone. After landing at Francis Ford Coppola’s castle in California (which we will report in upcoming editions), Salògolosa opens the summer season, attracting hundreds of people who love good recipes and local products.
Promotion and conclusion
Five hundred passes were printed, with an additional 100 kept on hand. “This is a fundamental event for promoting quality tourism, pairing flavors with locations” — emphasizes Mayor Giampiero Cipani. Many events will enrich the Salò program, from the stage of the Giro d’Italia to the week dedicated to bands.
