New Nautical Association «Il Timone» Promotes Lake Garda Sports

The new nautical cultural association «Il Timone» has clear ideas and proposals, officially introduced by President Ginetto Polloni. «We need to promote nautical culture and sports on Lake Garda — said Polloni during the club’s presentation — without pursuing personal political goals, which we do not have.

On the contrary, our aim is to be useful to the community, bound together by shared sporting interests. Among us are enthusiasts and representatives of various disciplines such as long-distance swimming, multi-paddler canoeing, small boat sailing, kayaking, and also experts in sports medicine or boat builders.

We are united by our love for the lake and sport, under the banner of friendship.» One of the objectives of the new association is to develop a dry marina for about eighty boats and to promote sailing or non-polluting watercraft to protect the lake’s health.

Projects and issues of the lake

In this regard, a series of meetings with Regione Lombardia will be promoted to find a common path. Another topic concerning the lake, often deliberately ignored but now becoming a problem, is the proliferation of aquatic animals.
