Lakefront Construction Continues Amid Reassurances and Environmental Monitoring

Everything was anticipated, everything is in order. Absolutely nothing has happened. The trust that Assessore Pietro Matteotti places in the eventual success of the lakeside operation remains unshaken. Has a bit of rubble slipped towards the bottom? Fine, more will be added, as many as are necessary to create the new promenade. There are still 30,000 cubic meters of mountain material to be discharged.

Future interventions and reassurances

If that’s not enough, don’t worry: in October, when the construction site reopens, another 300 meters of tunnel will be excavated to create two additional openings between the old Gardesana on the lake and the new mountain route. And then there is the (short-term) tunnel of the western bypass that is progressing.

Most importantly, for “technician” Matteotti, there is absolute confidence in the surveys conducted during the planning phase on the lakebed. If the calculations indicate it’s feasible, the backfilling will ultimately be successful.

Environmental observations

On another note, the assessor observes that, looking down into the water near the Casa Rossa (Red House), a bit of white is already visible on the lakebed. It shouldn’t just be dust…
