Zecchino d’Oro Provincial Selections Highlight Kids’ Popularity

There are approximately one thousand children already selected; 400 come from our province. These two figures alone demonstrate that Zecchino d’Oro, the most famous Italian children’s singing festival, still has an incredible following.

Provincial Selection and Next Stages

Yesterday morning, at the «Santa Giulia» residence in Padenghe, the organizers of the preliminary screening phases (namely Valtrompia Turismo in collaboration with the Gardesano magazine «Dipende») presented the first provincial-level report.

It is immediately evident that the efforts are paying off for the initiative’s coordinators. Four hundred young contestants, as mentioned, have signed up with the hope (especially from their parents) of stepping onto the magical stage of the Antoniano in Bologna, the historic venue of the festival hosted by the indomitable Cino Tortorella.

After passing the first individual test, our budding singers will perform, starting from tomorrow until June 9, in the Valtrumpline towns of Lodrino, Tavernole, Pezzaze, Irma, Bovegno, Collio, and Marmentino. On June 11, the association will notify the families of the children who have passed the tests and thus have earned the right to advance to the final selection of the 44th Zecchino d’Oro, scheduled for Saturday, June 16 in Collio, where Tortorella is also expected to attend.

Results and Upcoming Events

In Padenghe, instead, the first results of this massive selection process, which started in March and only recently concluded, were presented. Pier Franco Tanghetti, president of Valtrompia Turismo, recalled that this event «is one of the strengths of the promotional calendar of the Valle del Mella, which has invested heavily in valuable festivals and shows this year».

Next Friday, May 25, in the morning, another verification session will take place in Brescia, at the Palazzo Martinengo premises. The organizational machinery has so far been efficiently managed by Valtrompia Turismo, which conducted selections across four provinces: Brescia, Mantua, Cremona, and Trento.

Among those present in Padenghe were mayor Gian Carlo Allegri, Pozzolengo councilor Riccardo Saetti, Ados Sedaboni, president of the Organizing Committee of Zecchino d’Oro, Silvano Corli, president of the Valtrumplina Mountain Community, and newly elected municipal councilors Remo Bazzoli (Moniga) and Paola Pollini (Soiano).
