Weekend Events and Traditions in Torri for San Filippo Celebration

A weekend celebration in honor of the town’s patron, San Filippo. It will begin on Saturday morning at 11:00, in the parish church with a Holy Mass dedicated, in particular, to all the «Filippo» of Torri. The weekend will be dedicated to games, sports, and evocative moments organized by the municipal administration.

Starting from 3:00 PM and continuing into the evening, courtesy of the Compagnia del Sipario Medioevale di Verona, visitors will be able to admire artists and artisans dressed in period costumes along the streets of the historic center. They will perform ancient crafts such as blacksmithing, pottery, ceramics, rope-making, and more.

Events and Traditions on Saturday Afternoon

Also during the afternoon, the «First Madonnari Gathering» will take place, featuring the group «Il Castello» from Villafranca and the cultural association «Fantasie» from San Bonifacio. Additionally, music and dance will be curated by the Choral and Instrumental Association «Il canzoniere del Progno» of Illasi.

The most awaited moment of the day will be at 10:45 PM, when, in the waters of the town’s lakeside promenade, the boat of San Filippo will be set on fire, according to the ancient tradition. Hundreds of lit floating lanterns will be scattered on the lake, creating a highly evocative atmosphere.

Sunday Concert and Attractions

This well-loved event usually attracts hundreds of tourists and visitors eager to enjoy the play of lights on Lake Garda’s waters.

On Sunday, at 11:00 AM, on Viale Fratelli Lavanda, the «Sixth gathering of vintage cars and motorcycles of Domegliara» is scheduled to arrive. In the afternoon, starting at 5:30 PM, the third «Venetian rowing regatta» will take place, organized by the municipal administration in collaboration with the «Bisse Torri» association.
