Coast Guard Returns to Lake Garda for Summer Safety Operations

The Coast Guard is returning to Lake Garda for the current season. “With satisfaction,” states Giuseppe Mongiello, President of the Garda Community, “yesterday we learned, albeit informally, about the confirmation of the presence of a Coast Guard boat on Garda, to ensure the safety of boaters.”

Meeting and regional support

In the coming days, a meeting will be held in Rome to define the technical and organizational aspects of the initiative.

The effort and perseverance of the community organization, also supported by the Lombardy, Veneto, and Autonomous Province of Trento Regions, have been rewarded: in the absence of a regulation that legitimizes the presence of the Coast Guard in internal waters, it has not been easy to maintain this service on the lake, which complements and strengthens the work already performed excellently by the Carabinieri, the State Police, the Guardia di Finanza, and Volunteers.

Duration of the service

The service is expected to begin around mid-June and end between September 30th and October 15th.
