Lazise Mayor Dalla Pellegrina Shapes Half-Complete Cabinet and Agenda

The new cabinet is only half completed. Mayor Bruno Dalla Pellegrina, during his first city council meeting the day after the municipal elections, held Friday evening at the historic Palazzina, appointed only three of the possible six assessors.

To complete the team, it will be necessary to wait for the Lega to suggest the second nominee, out of the two allocated to each political force (Forza Italia, Alleanza Nazionale, and Lega Nord-Liga Veneta) that makes up the majority. Therefore, at the moment, the three designated assessors are: Umberto Chincarini, deputy mayor with delegated responsibilities for social services, sports, and relations with institutions; Mauro Danzi, assessor for productive activities and commerce; Michele Perbellini, external assessor with delegated responsibilities for traffic, territory, environment, and municipal policies.

The appointments were announced following the swearing-in of the new mayor, who, upon donning the tricolor sash and reciting the fidelity oath, was seen slipping a green handkerchief into his jacket pocket.

Inauguration Speeches and Programs

At the opening of the session, Bruno Dalla Pellegrina, in thanking voters for their trust, assured: “I want to represent all the people of Lazise during my term, and I will operate aiming to interpret the citizens’ needs in the best possible way, with the goal of achieving a general increase in quality of life.”

The request made by Antonio Invidia, after thanking voters for their support for the civic list Arilica, is that the mayor governs “with the utmost independence” and guarantees the “democracy” that “has not been present in the last four years.”

Focusing on the “climate of suspicion” that emerged during the election campaign, Giulio Bichel, leader of the civic group “Gente di Lago,” stated his willingness to sign the complaint letter proposed by the majority.

Regarding governance directions, the mayor limited himself, while waiting for the council to establish its own agenda for the next five years, to outlining the electoral program, emphasizing continuity with the Chincarini administration.

Among the priorities, the first is maintaining taxes and levies at the lowest possible levels; followed by the requalification of social services and the promotion of activities by associations and non-profit organizations of social utility.

Projects and Public Works

The list of public works includes the construction of a new school building and a sports field in Porto Vecchio; the development of bike lanes, five playgrounds, and an expansion of the cemetery.

The new administration’s program also features the construction of a railway underpass in Porto Vecchio; support for tourist and cultural initiatives; increased attention to youth; and a vigorous effort to combat prostitution, drugs, and delinquency.

In terms of culture, plans include creating exhibition, museum, and historical archive areas within the restored artillery barracks at Porta Verona, which will also host a more prestigious location for the library.

To meet the needs of sports enthusiasts, a center equipped for canoeing, rowing, and Venetian rowing will be built; the tennis courts at San Benedetto will be covered; a new gymnasium will be developed; and consideration will be given to constructing a new swimming pool — possibly intermunicipal and publicly or jointly managed.

During the statements, Paolo Melotti and Gianluca Fiorio, respectively leaders of Forza Italia and Alleanza Nazionale, committed themselves to a “constructive collaboration” with the council.

The other group leaders are Pietro Dalai for the civic group Arilica, Stefano Pasini for the Liga, and Giulio Bichel for Gente di Lago.
