First Aid Course for Beach Operators in Sirmione Enhances Emergency Skills
In Sirmione, a first aid course has just concluded, aimed at operators of municipal beaches and managers of venues overlooking the beaches.
Objectives and Content of the Lessons
“Sometimes – as explained by Gian Luca Fila of the Centro Rilevamento Ambientale, which promoted the initiative in collaboration with the Municipality and the Brescia section of the Federazione Salvamento Acquatico – incidents occur that can be prevented with prompt intervention by the first responders. Of course, while waiting for an ambulance or a doctor.” The lessons conducted by experts from the Brescia branch of the federation focused on first aid techniques: artificial respiration, cardiopulmonary resuscitation, and other methods.
Basic knowledge, but often capable of saving a life.
Three kilometers of beach, after all, demand these precautions, in addition to the necessary presence of a qualified lifeguard, which is yet to be officially established.
Materials and Level of Vigilance
Participants in the course received a medical kit containing some practical tools and materials to provide first aid in cases of sunstroke, insect bites, scraped knees, and other emergencies.
The course participants enhance an already sufficiently maintained level of vigilance, provided by the Volontari del Garda and the Protezione Civile.
