Puegnago Summer Festivals and Events Highlighting Local Culture

The Festa di San Giovanni in Palude di Puegnago concluded with a positive outcome, filling last weekend with music, cuisine, and merriment in the district of the Valtenesi village. Traditional wine cellar tastings, ballroom dancing, and folkloric events were also part of the festivities.

Meanwhile, the Puegnago Municipal Administration has announced the schedule of events for the already-started summer. On July 6th, there will be the Festa di S. Gaetano in Monteacuto and the theatrical comedy “Scarpe e sopei,” performed by the Teatro S. Lorenzo di Carzago. Fun is guaranteed. From July 13th to 15th, the traditional Lotus Flower Festival will take place at the lakes of Sovenigo.

The festivities continue, with the period from July 19th (when the Villanuova-based Fil de Fer company will present “Terno sec so la roda de”) to July 22nd. On the Raffa sports field, on July 26th, there will be a Grandparents’ Day celebration, featuring games, stories, and cheers; organized by the Solidarietà group. From July 27th to 29th, the Festa dello sportivo will be held in Raffa, including the Veger Walk and a small “Madonnari” drawing contest.

From July 30th to August 5th, the Madonna della Neve Festival will take place. Theatrical performances continue on August 3rd with “Il burbero benefico,” by the Poetico di Gavardo. On August 10th, in conjunction with “Calici di stelle,” a national event organized in collaboration with the Associazione Nazionale Città del Vino (to which Puegnago is also registered), the wineries will open in the evening.

The seventh edition of the end-of-August Festival will run from August 24th to 26th. From August 31st to September 3rd, the Agriculture and Handicrafts Fair will be held, one of the longest-standing fairs in the entire province (now in its 25th edition). Notably, the related brochure has already been printed. We believe this is a record worth highlighting.

“Visitors can enjoy Groppello wine and high-quality extra virgin olive oil, savoring ancient, pleasant, and harmonious flavors,” recalls Mayor Gianfranco Comincioli. On September 2nd, the tradition-rich Botti Palio will take place, featuring competitions between teams from various Valtenesi towns. But the festivities don’t end there. It is a local tradition that Puegnago is one of the most lively villages on Brescian shores of Lake Garda.

Thus, after the homage to Giuseppe Verdi with the Caronte Chamber Group on September 29th, the Polenta Tiragna Festival will be held from October 12th to 14th, followed by the Chestnut and New Wine Festival from October 16th to 21st. In November, there will be a sports gala and a truffle market. As seen, this is an extended summer season.
