Lake Garda’s Symbol & Symbol Event Showcases Riva, Ferrari, and Luxury
Revised, updated, and above all expanded, the Lake Garda event “Symbol & Symbol” returns, uniting the most prestigious brands of Italian design: Riva boats and Ferrari cars. The second edition of this event, scheduled for July 27, 28, and 29, was presented at the Vecchia Lugana restaurant in Sirmione.
An audience was present, including the tourism counselor of the province of Brescia, Ermes Brufoli, mayors and councilors from the participating localities, along with organizers led by Curzio Moretti and Carlo Reveland, president of the Yacht Club del Garda, and representatives of the Ferrari Club Scaligero.
Participation and Program of the Event
Expected for this major appointment is a significant participation of owners and enthusiasts of Riva boats and Ferrari cars, making the event an important showcase for the productions of these two great Italian brands.
Last year, the Ferrari Owner’s Club Scaligero, presided over by Piergiuseppe Perazzini, managed to bring to Lake Garda the Ferrari 399 driven by Michael Schumacher, used during the 1999 Formula 1 racing season.
For this second edition, the presence of the Ferrari F300 is confirmed, a car that won the Formula 1 world championship last year, along with the new runaboat Acquariva, the latest model from Riva yards in Sarnico, continuing the fairy tale started in the seventies by the legendary Acquarama.
Venues and Side Events
Desenzano, with its old port and adjacent square, will serve as the main hub of this event, which will also move in a nearly itinerant fashion to Gardone Riviera on the evening of July 27, at the home of the notable Gabriele D’Annunzio, a great lover of cars and more.
The following day, both Riva and Ferrari will meet again in Desenzano, then later in the afternoon, a parade will take place along the lakeside promenades of Salò and Gardone Riviera, with the event concluding in the enchanting park of Castello Bonoris in Montichiari.
An unplanned but unavoidable aspect will be the presence at various points around the lake. On Sunday, there will be an aperitif in the towers of the Castello Scaligero in Sirmione, followed by a gathering at Palazzo del Turismo in Desenzano to watch the competitive phases of the Hockenheim Grand Prix.
It is worth noting that, for this occasion, Poste Italiane has decided to issue a special philatelic cancellation, on Saturday in piazza Malvezzi, along with a free distribution of postcards by the organizers.
