Cecina Art Week Showcases Local Culture, Art and Restoration Projects
In Cecina, a hilly fraction of Toscolano Maderno, the “Art Week” has been inaugurated, now in its twelfth edition. Organized by the Association headed by Charlotte Heiss.
This evening at 9 PM, in the square, Mayor Paolo Elena and scholar Carlo Simoni will discuss projects for the restoration of the valley of the paper mills. A performance by master Luigi Ferranti and a musical demonstration by the duo Brevenna are also scheduled.
Events and activities planned
Tomorrow, Giampaolo Atzeni will present “Digital Art”. Using a digital camera, Atzeni will take several portraits of the audience present, rework them on a computer, project them on the screen, and eventually print them.
Thursday, in the garden of the rectory, a debate on “Culture and Tourism” will feature Alberto Cavalli, President of the Province of Brescia, along with the Deputy Consul General of Germany (Fridrich Roehrs), his counterparts from Great Britain (Alan Reuter), Poland (Maria Olszanka), and the Czech Republic (Josef Molata).
Followed by the performance “Dancing for You” by the Danza Viva company, characterized by a succession of different choreographic techniques and styles: from pieces by Jarre, Prince, Aubry, and Bach to chants of the Native Americans, African music, or works by Andrea Bocelli and Celine Dion. Lead dancer: Enkel Zhuti.
On Friday, the focus will be on gastronomy and typical products from Lake Garda. Speakers will include Gian Paolo Mantelli, Agriculture Councilor in Palazzo Broletto; Gianluigi Goi; Alberto Pancera (wines); Gianni Mazzoldi (the number 1 of Aipol and the extravirgin olive oil Dop consortium on the western shore); Giorgio Musico (dairy products); and Virgilio Vezzola (truffles).
Saturday, again at 9 PM, in the garden of the rectory, there will be a concert by Domenico Severino and the Bella Band: a journey into Italian singer-songwriter songs. Composer of soundtracks and film scores, Severino has created pieces for “La casa dei sogni”, hosted by Milly Carlucci on Raiuno, and for “La vita in diretta” by Michele Cucuzza.
At the same time, in the square, the Bartel jewelry company from Augsburg will showcase the famous Fugger jewelry, which in the 1500s funded European royal courts. The presentation will be repeated on Sunday evening during the closing of the “Art Week”.
In Cecina, about twenty exhibitions can be admired. Giuseppe Bravi and Giovanni Tomasoni present “Africa”. Natino Chirico, who collaborates with Versace and Ken Scott, exhibits canvases with photographs taken from cinema, decorating offices and company headquarters.
Further, works by: Heiko Haschlar, Bornic (Pietro Righettini), Riccardo Carugati, Pia Lima, Enzo Verdelli, Marzia Pieri, Davide Alborghetti, Vallina Meneghini Derugna, Giampaolo Atzeni, Simon Nygren (a Finnish artist living in Padenghe), Rita Totini Zanderigo (not only watercolors but also brooches, necklaces, mirrors, and decorated candles), Walter Xausa (designing modern stained glass windows), Franco Fratti, and Namaskar (exhibiting light fountains powered by a water recycling electric mechanism).
Not to forget the collective exhibition of students from the Gargnano Art Institute and the show about the valley of the paper mills.
