A special day for “Mosaico Scienze”, the festival dedicated to the land and human beings that is currently taking place in the high Mantovano area. This morning at 10 am, as previously announced, a meeting with journalist and scientific communicator Piero Angela will be held with students at the Supercinema in Castiglione.

Also at 10 am in Solferino (Le Sorgive agriturismo), scientist Roberto Vacca will discuss the future of life on Earth. Following these important events, at Villa Mirra in Cavriana at 11 am, there will be two exhibitions: one on the landscape of the 1950s and another on the current landscape of high Mantovano, and a meeting on viticulture.

Presentation of the video and exhibition on the Mincio landscape

In the afternoon, the stunning landscape that served as the backdrop for the film “Il mestiere delle armi”, the last masterpiece by Ermanno Olmi, will be the focus of the video “Mincio, life of a river”, which will be presented at 3 pm in the Civic Hall of Castellaro Lagusello as part of the series “La Terra, l’uomo e la terra”.

Accompanied by a series of photographs, the film aims to raise awareness among citizens about the issues of protecting the river habitat. The exhibition and the video are the result of work involving traversing the river in all its aspects and with various means: on foot, by bicycle, and by hang glider.

It narrates a journey through the most characteristic and interesting environments of the river, from Peschiera to the mouth near Governolo. The material comes from a group of photography enthusiasts who wanted to present life around the river, aiming for as complete a perspective as possible.

Authors and schedule of the exhibition

The photographic exhibition and the video are created by Stefano Ronca and Laura Zaniboni, in collaboration with naturalist photographer Stefano Barbieri. All three authors are experts and passionate about environmental protection.
