Castiglione Hosts German Students in Ongoing Town Twinning Exchange
They were welcomed at the town hall by Mayor Arturo Sigurtà and the Education Councillor, Giuseppe Bertoli, along with fifteen German students hosted by Castiglione families. This is part of an educational exchange within the twinning arrangement with Leutkirch.
After the grand Oktoberfest celebration, the students arrived from Germany on Wednesday afternoon and were hosted at the “Francesco Gonzaga” State High School yesterday morning. They were received by the IV class of Accounting, which itself had been in Germany last February.
Meeting and activities
Hosting at “Gonzaga” was the school’s Principal Council President, Mario Ferrari, who emphasized the value of exchanges between peoples, especially in times of difficult cultural coexistence like the current one.
Subsequently, there was a transfer to the town hall, with greetings from Mayor Sigurtà and Councillor Bertoli, who highlighted the importance of the school exchange between Castiglione and Leutkirch. This moment is considered fundamental to the twinning process and is strongly supported by the municipal administration.
Organization and planning
The initiative was coordinated by teachers Pasetti and Franceschetti of the Accounting Department, with support from the Twinning Group and the local council.
The students and teachers are staying with local families in Castiglione and will remain in the Mantuan area for four days. On Sunday morning at 10:30 a.m., the church choir of Leutkirch’s Catholic parish will sing during the religious service at the Basilica of San Luigi.
Upcoming exchanges and events
For November, approximately forty residents from Barentin, a twinned town in France, are expected to visit, for whom arrangements in families are still being organized.
In short, the exchanges remain lively and continue to strengthen the bonds between the involved communities.
