Stefani Visits Rivane Congress Center to Boost Event Promotion

Stefano Stefani, Undersecretary of Foreign Trade in the Berlusconi government, is visiting the Rivane congress and trade fair infrastructures this morning. After greeting the municipal administrators, the honorable will meet at the Convention Palace with Gianni Zontini and the council of the Palacongressi, and together they will make a field inspection of the three new exhibition pavilions at Baltera.

Reason for the visit

The reason for the Undersecretary’s visit is straightforward. The Palacongressi, through Mario Malossini, who specializes in this type of issue, has come to believe that an increase in activity is only possible through strengthening the company’s market presence, which is challenging and crowded with competitors.

This means that in the right places, where decisions that matter are made, Riva and its potential, its facilities, and the overall quality of the offer need to be known. It is not enough to excel at Expo Schuh and Expo Hotel, or the lawyers’ conference or the road safety event: when Brussels must decide on a venue for the European Commission’s agriculture meeting, someone must think of Riva, suggest it, and somehow sponsor it.

Significance of the visit and acknowledgments

This is the significance of Stefani‘s visit, who, following previous meetings in Rome with Mario Malossini, knows well that Riva hosts a fair: but after visiting the structures, it will be able to better position, configure, and evaluate it.

This also ties into the appointment, on the province’s recommendation, of Gianno Zontini to the national technical commission at the Ministry of Economy. This body is responsible for establishing the calendar of national and international fairs recognized at the government level.

Importance of Rivane fairs

The importance for the two major Rivane fairs is obvious: for Expo Schuh, which must be protected from constant assaults by competitors eager to snatch from Garda the most important (and profitable) event of the year; and for Expo Hotel, which suffers from a too narrow regional scope and must find space, new sponsors, and new reasons for interest and appeal to survive.
