Lonate Pozzolo Establishes Neighborhood Committees for Citizen Engagement
The representation of councilors from the many neighborhoods of Lonate Pozzolo has become a reality following the elections held last September.
The dialogue with the Municipal Administration has already materialized through various meetings, such as those held on October 17th regarding the Master Plan and on October 19th concerning the Saint Anthony Abate Fair.
These occasions primarily serve to listen to the proposals circulating spontaneously among citizens, which, thanks to these representatives, can now find an appropriate platform to be reviewed and verified.
Public works remain, however, the area of greatest interest and the focus of the most frequent reports: the conditions of the roads, signage, safety, and paving, which raise the main complaints.
In any case, every citizen can contact their neighborhood councilor to submit suggestions and voice protests.
Neighborhood Committees
Let’s look in detail at the names of the twelve Neighborhood Committees that have been established and have begun operating.
For the historic center, which includes the perimeter of the town within the city walls, Mirvano Facchinetti (63 votes) and Giancarlo Papa (26) were elected.
For the San Martino area (Monte Rova, San Martino, Pozze, via Regia Antica, Corlo), no election was needed as there were only two candidates, namely Nirvano Raffa and Pietro Gallerini.
Direct election was also held for Viale Roma, with a single candidate, Antonino Bonalda Panarello.
For the Filatoio area (which also includes Lonatino), Michele Vitello (24 votes) and Elio Reffo (16) emerged as winners.
In Campagna (which also includes Salera, Fossa, Trivellino, Malocche, and Faccendina), Francesco Crotti (13 votes) and Roberto Bianchini (9) were elected.
For Barcuzzi-Maguzzano, the highest preferences went to Gerardo Bertini (30 votes) and Giovanni Bresciani (18).
The only representative for the San Cipriano hamlet is Claudio Bersan.
Residents of Sedena and Bettola are represented by Gianfranco Cenedella and Eleonora Dal Corso for local issues.
There is also a single representative for the Neighborhood Committee encompassing San Polo, San Tomaso, and Brodena, Marino Bignotti.
The populous hamlet of Esenta, located near Castiglione, has chosen Sergio Sandrini and Tarcisio Abate as representatives to the Lonate Pozzolo Municipal Administration.
Centenaro is represented by Falliero Fambri and Adriano Valbusa, and finally, Castelvenzago-Scoperta by Fiorenzo Martinelli (28 votes) and Majcol Ugolini (23 votes).
The Neighborhood Committees will remain in office for the entire duration of the City Council and will be renewed only if the City Council is dissolved early for any reason.
