Alpine Troops and Peschiera Choir Launch Successful New CD

The Alpine troops have once again hit the mark. The entire Peschiera community was gathered in the main hall of the Police School, led by Colonel Giuseppe Reccia, to listen to the songs of the Ana choir and their first newly recorded compact disc, produced by master Sergio Dall’Ora at the Alpine headquarters, namely the Pelleria of the old Austrian barracks near the bastion.

Musical moments and speeches

Enhancing the evening, Angelo Loi recounted the history of the alpine choir and the story behind the creation of the new CD. The event was peppered with alpine songs, applauded and met with numerous encore requests. Much applause also went to master Matteo Longhi, who was visibly moved by the success of the evening and the important recording project.

Thanks and future initiatives

Following the speech by the sectional president Alfonso Ercole, who praised the alpine troops and their choir, the president of the Province, Aleardo Merlin, invited the choir to Mainz next year, in celebration of the 25th anniversary of the twinning between the Province of Verona and Mainz-Bingen.

Awards and CD sales

The evening also featured compliments from the mayor of Peschiera, Bruno Dalla Pellegrina, and senator Umberto Chincarini. Vice President of the Regional Council, Angelo Fiorin, presented the choir with the flag of the Veneto Region bearing the winged lion and awarded the golden lion to master Matteo Longhi, choir president Luciano Gianello, and the sponsor, Count Pietro Arvedi.

Success of the disc and concluding remarks

The Hacana Productions-recorded CDs totaled 1,500 copies, with more than half already sold. An unexpected success for the Peschiera choir, whose continuous demand will now prompt an immediate reissue of the disc.
