Telethon Conference Boosts Italian Genetic Research and Collaboration
Over 700 researchers from all over Italy, engaged in scientific studies financed by Telethon, will gather from today until Tuesday at the Palazzo dei Congressi to discuss how to combat genetic diseases.
The Tenth Telethon Convention
During the three days of the “Tenth Telethon Convention”, the annual event of the Fondazione, the latest results from Italian and international scholars will be presented.
But that’s not all. The aim of the initiative is “to promote integration between different laboratories in the spirit of maximum transparency regarding the use of funds collected from the public,” say the organizers.
As part of the convention, which will also be attended by Telethon president Susanna Agnelli and scientific director Francesca Pasinelli, the second volume of Telethon’s series “Filo diretto con le malattie genetiche” (Direct Line with Genetic Diseases), published by Utet, will be presented as a tool for consultation and updates for all doctors.
End of Season and Future Initiatives
The three days represent the final event of the season for the Palacongressi, which will resume in January with Expo Riva Schuh and Expo Hotel.
On December 14, scientific research initiatives will be sponsored by the ski resorts participating in Dolomiti Superski: skiers will receive a daily ski pass in exchange for a donation of 20,000 lire to Telethon.
