Gonzaga Institute Water Leak Resolved; Repairs Underway

Emergency resolved at the Gonzaga Institute, where the Principal had ordered the closure of the Institute yesterday due to a severe water leak, which had already caused flooding on the ground floor last week.

The situation, while awaiting the necessary repairs, was managed by manually suspending the water flow during nighttime hours. On Friday afternoon, provincial plumbers intervened after the excavation—carried out to locate the leak—exposed a damaged pipeline and led to the suspension of water supply.

Restoration actions and updates

The operation has allowed for the restoration of water supply, while maintaining, as highlighted by Professor Massoni, the suspension during the night: “Yesterday morning I found a communication, left by the janitor on duty Friday afternoon, in which I was informed of the work carried out. Essentially, the intervention consisted of sealing the holes in the damaged pipeline exposed by the excavation in order to enable water use, while continuing to suspend its discharge during the night.”

There are other leaks, and with the resumption of work, we will have a more complete picture of the situation. Together with the Board of the Institute, we will carry out, tomorrow late morning, a site inspection to assess the actual situation.”
