Garda Nativity Scene Returns to Original Location to Support Missions

The large nativity scene in Borgo will return to its original location, the square in front of the parish church. In previous years, it had been moved to the gardens of the congress center and later to the Rimembranza park, in front of the tourism promotion company. This time, it will be set up again in what the residents of Garda call the “piazza dei platani” (plane tree square): it was born there seven years ago, and that was the spark that ignited Christmas among the olives in Garda.

The group of volunteers and their commitment

The large Garda nativity scene is created by a group of volunteers. There are about fifteen of them in total. For seven years, they have undertaken this effort to raise funds in support of the work of a Camillian missionary active in Northeast Brazil, Father Adolfo Serripierro.

The inauguration ceremony

Last year, it was Father Adolfo himself who inaugurated the large nativity scene together with the emeritus bishop of Verona, Monsignor Giuseppe Amari.
