Riva Rafts Detached Due to Storm, Recovery and Preservation Underway
For several days now, some rafts have been floating on the shoreline in the Gulf of Riva del Garda: two of the six anchored offshore as rescue, refreshment, and leisure points used by summer bathers in the area. The storm from last week detached them from their moorings and carried them onto the beach, leaving them at the mercy of the waves.
Interventions on the raft recovery
The residents of Riva, frequenters of the lakeside promenade, have expressed their concern to the Municipality about the future of the rafts, which cost around two million each. They risk, if left on the shoreline for a long time, being damaged.
The officials of the municipal yard have therefore proceeded with their recovery and a thorough cleaning, postponing their repositioning offshore until the arrival of the good season in order to facilitate the work of the divers.
