Croce Rossa Training Enhances Volunteer Skills for Social Rescue Roles
Currently taking place at Villa Brescianelli is a training course aimed at Rescue Volunteers of the Croce Rossa (Red Cross), designed to train instructors for social activities.
Until Sunday, December 2nd, a couple of delegates from each Italian region will attend lessons taught by teachers and experts to acquire specific skills, which they will subsequently pass on to other volunteers.
Evolution of Volunteers’ Role
Until recently, this branch of the Croce Rossa was primarily responsible for addressing health-related needs.
Today, the demand for a more “social” focus is increasingly pressing, driven by the diverse and changing socio-economic and political needs of the country.
To ensure that personnel are prepared to handle social rescue, a week of study has been organized. Its program emphasizes a particular focus that will enable the availability of qualified volunteers capable of transmitting knowledge to other Croce Rossa members.
Training Content
The ongoing lessons are divided into basic training and specialized training.
The first group is further structured. It begins with social activities, including teachings on the history and evolution of social action, legislative and institutional contexts, ethics, and the deontology of volunteering.
Then, it covers social activities within the Croce Rossa, with references to the international movement.
Additionally, the course addresses activity planning, relational aspects, and teaching methodologies.
