Fidenza Hosts “Vetrine in Piazza” Shop Windows Event and Concerts
Also this year, the Associazione commercianti (Merchants’ Association), in collaboration with the Amministrazione comunale (Municipal Administration), with the Pro loco and many other associations, is organizing the event «Vetrine in piazza» (Shop Windows in the Square) for next Sunday. However, the unmissable events will begin the evening before with an organ concert, choir, and soloists by the Corale San Donnino Città di Fidenza (San Donnino Choir of Fidenza), continuing through the following weeks.
Concerts and performances
Indeed, at 9 p.m. on Saturday, at the parish church, attendees will have the opportunity to hear Verdi arias, mainly from the sacred repertoire of the composer from Parma, alongside pieces by Puccini, Rossini, Handel, and many others.
The choir, which has now a forty-year history and is directed by Giovanni Chiapponi, will feature soloists such as soprano Irene Patta, baritone Romano Franceschetto, trumpet player Claudio Canali, as well as Luca Pollastri on organ and piano.
Celebration in the historic center
The day after, the central Piazza Carlo Alberto will fill with booths and proposals.
«We want to revive the historic center», affirms Marileno Brentegani, president of the Pro loco, «with the presence (from 10 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.) of the stalls, providing a special setting for choosing Christmas gifts, as well as for tasting typical products from the sister city of St. Johann in Tirol, Austria.»
At 5 p.m. in the town hall, there will be the presentation of the book on sayings and idioms from Valeggio, “Migole de Stagnà”, not forgetting the space dedicated to solidarity initiatives.
Markets, exhibitions, and charity shows
A craft market and the Parada association will invite visitors to support projects benefiting children in Paraguay and young people in Bucharest.
On December 22, the “Collodi” elementary schools will host the Nativity Scene Craft Fair, organized by the “Il barometro” association, which will run until January 6.
High anticipation also surrounds the recital by pianist Luca Tononi on Sunday, December 23, at 5:30 p.m. at Palazzo Guarienti, for the Musical Aperitifs, and the concert by the Big Band Città di Verona scheduled for Saturday, January 5, at 9 p.m. at the Teatro Smeraldo.
