Scammers Posing as Police Contact Garda Businesses for Fraud

They pose as carabinieri when contacting hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurateurs in the middle and upper Garda area, proposing magazine subscriptions from the Carabinieri.

They are not military personnel but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance police, police, fire brigade, or municipal police.

Beware of scams and how to react

They often promote subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or magazines that have nothing to do with law enforcement agencies.

So, stay alert and immediately notify the genuine Carabinieri – simply dial 112 – as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by those who, after taking the money, disappear without a trace.
