Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri to Sell Fake Magazine Subscriptions

They are passing themselves off as carabinieri when making phone calls to hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurant owners in the middle and upper Garda area, offering subscriptions to Army magazines.

These are not military personnel, but fraudsters who, from time to time, claim to belong to finance, police, fire brigade, or local police authorities.

Beware of scams and how to react

They often propose subscriptions to non-existent magazines or magazines that have nothing to do with law enforcement agencies.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the real carabinieri – simply dial 112 – as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who, after taking the money, disappear.
