Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri Offering Fake Magazine Subscriptions

They pose as carabinieri when contacting hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurant owners in the middle and upper Garda area, proposing subscriptions to magazines of the Carabinieri.

They are not members of the military, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to finance, police, fire brigade, or municipal police.

Beware of scams and how to respond

They often offer subscriptions to non-existent magazines or those that have nothing to do with law enforcement agencies.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the carabinieri – simply dial 112 – as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by someone who, once receiving the money, disappears.
