Scammers Pose as Police to Trick Garda Businesses Into Paying

They pose as carabinieri when making phone calls to hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurateurs in the middle and upper Garda area, offering subscriptions to military magazines.

This is not about military personnel, but rather scammers who, each time, claim to belong to the finance police, the police, fire brigade, or municipal police.

They often propose subscriptions to non-existent magazines or magazines that have nothing to do with law enforcement.
