Garda Scammers Impersonate Police, Offer Fake Magazine Subscriptions

They impersonate carabinieri when calling hotel owners, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurateurs in the middle and upper Garda area, proposing subscriptions to military magazines.

These are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance police, the police, the fire brigade, or the municipal police.

They often offer subscriptions to non-existent magazines or those having no connection to law enforcement agencies.

Therefore, pay attention and immediately notify the real carabinieri — just dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who, after receiving the money, disappear.
