Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri to Target Garda Area Businesses

They impersonate carabinieri when making phone calls to hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurateurs in the mid and upper Garda area, offering subscriptions to military magazines.

These are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to be affiliated with finance, police, fire brigade, or municipal police.

They often propose subscriptions to non-existent magazines or those unrelated to law enforcement agencies.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the carabinieri — simply dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who, after receiving the money, disappear and are no longer seen.
