Garda Fraud Alert: Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri in Phone Scams

They impersonate carabinieri when making phone calls to hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurant owners in the middle and upper Garda area, offering subscriptions to military magazines.

They are not military personnel, but fraudsters who occasionally claim to belong to finance, the police, the fire brigade, or municipal police.

Beware of scams and how to respond

They often suggest subscriptions to non-existent magazines or magazines that have nothing to do with law enforcement agencies.
