Garda Scam Alert: Impostors Pose as Carabinieri for Fake Subscriptions

They impersonate Carabinieri when calling hoteliers, shop owners, artisans, and restaurateurs in the middle and upper Garda area, offering subscriptions to Army magazines.

These are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to finance, police, fire brigade, or municipal police.

They often propose subscriptions to non-existent magazines or those that have nothing to do with law enforcement agencies.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately alert the Carabinieri — just dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who,

once they receive the money, disappear without a trace.
