Garda Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri to Sell Fake Magazine Subscriptions

They impersonate carabinieri when making phone calls to hoteliers, shop owners, artisans, and restaurateurs in the middle and upper Garda area, proposing subscriptions to military magazines.

These are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to finance, police, fire brigade, or municipal police.

They often offer subscriptions to non-existent magazines or those unrelated to law enforcement agencies.

So, be vigilant and immediately notify the carabinieri — just dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who, after obtaining money, disappear without a trace.
