Fraudsters Impersonate Carabinieri in Garda Area Scams

They impersonate carabinieri when calling hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurateurs in the middle and upper Garda area, proposing subscriptions to military magazines.

These are not military personnel, but fraudsters who, from time to time, claim to belong to finance, police, fire brigade, or urban police.

Beware of scams and how to react

They often offer subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or those that have nothing to do with law enforcement agencies.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the carabinieri — simply dial 112 — as soon as you sense you have been targeted by individuals who,

after receiving money, disappear without a trace.
