Garda Area Scam Alert: Beware Fake Carabinieri Enforcing Subscriptions

They impersonate carabinieri when calling hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurant owners in the middle and upper Garda area, offering magazine subscriptions from the Carabinieri.

These are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to financial authorities, the police, fire brigade, or urban police.

Beware of scams and how to react

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or those with no connection to law enforcement agencies.

Therefore, stay alert and immediately notify the genuine carabinieri—just dial 112— as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who,

after obtaining the money, disappear and do not show up again.
