Scammers Impersonate Police to Sell Fake Magazine Subscriptions in Garda

They impersonate carabinieri when calling hoteliers, shop owners, artisans, and restaurant owners in the middle and upper Garda area, offering subscriptions to Arma magazines.

These are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance police, regular police, fire brigade, or municipal police.

Beware of scams and how to react

They often propose subscriptions to fake magazines or publications unrelated to law enforcement agencies.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the carabinieri — simply dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you are being targeted by individuals who, after collecting the money, disappear.
