Scammers Impersonating Police Offer Fake Magazine Subscriptions in Garda

Pretending to be carabinieri, individuals call hoteliers, shop owners, artisans, and restaurateurs in the middle and upper Garda area, offering subscriptions to Arma magazines.

They are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to be part of the finance police, police, fire brigade, or municipal police.

Beware of scams and how to respond

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or those that have nothing to do with law enforcement agencies.

So, be vigilant and immediately notify the carabinieri — simply dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you’ve been targeted by individuals who, after getting the money, disappear.
