Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri Offering Fake Magazine Subscriptions

The Carabinieri are being impersonated by individuals contacting hoteliers, shop owners, artisans, and restaurant owners across central and upper Garda, offering subscriptions to Arma magazines.

These are not military personnel, but fraudsters who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance police, regular police, fire brigade, or municipal police.

Beware of scams and how to react

They often propose subscriptions to non-existent magazines or those unrelated to law enforcement agencies.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the genuine Carabinieri — simply dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by those who,

after receiving the money, disappear and do not show up again.
