Lake Garda Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri to Dishonestly Sell Magazines

The Carabinieri are being impersonated by scammers who contact hoteliers, shop owners, artisans, and restaurant owners around Lake Garda, offering subscriptions to Arma magazines.

These are not members of the military but fraudsters who, from time to time, claim to belong to the financial police, the police, the fire brigade, or the municipal police.

Beware of scams and how to react

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or publications that have nothing to do with law enforcement agencies.

Therefore, be vigilant and immediately notify the Carabinieri — simply dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who, after receiving the money, disappear.
