Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri to Trick Garda Business Owners

They impersonate Carabinieri when calling hotel owners, shopkeepers, craftsmen, and restaurant owners in the middle and upper Garda area, offering subscriptions to Arma magazines.

These are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to finance, police, fire brigade, or municipal police.

They often propose subscriptions to non-existent magazines or publications that have nothing to do with law enforcement agencies.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the Carabinieri — just dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who, after taking the money, disappear.
