Garda Area Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri in Magazine Subscription Fraud

They are impersonating Carabinieri when contacting hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restauranteurs in the mid and upper Garda area, proposing magazine subscriptions from the Arma.

These are not military personnel, but scammers who, each time, claim to belong to the finance department, police, fire brigade, or local police officers.

They often propose subscriptions to non-existent magazines or magazines that have nothing to do with law enforcement agencies.

Therefore, be vigilant and immediately notify the Carabinieri — just dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who, after taking your money, disappear without a trace.
