Garda Scammers Pose as Carabinieri to Sell Fake Magazine Subscriptions

They masquerade as Carabinieri when making phone calls to hoteliers, shop owners, artisans, and restaurant owners in the middle and upper Garda area, offering subscriptions to Arma magazines.

They are not military personnel but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance department, police, fire brigade, or municipal police.

Beware of scams and how to react

They often propose subscriptions to non-existent magazines or magazines that have nothing to do with law enforcement agencies.

Therefore, stay vigilant and immediately notify the real Carabinieri — just dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who,

once they have received the money, disappear.
