Carabinieri impersonators are contacting hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurant owners in central and upper Garda by phone, offering subscriptions to military magazines.

They are not soldiers, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to finance authorities, police, fire brigades, or municipal guards.

They often offer subscriptions to non-existent magazines or those unrelated to law enforcement agencies.

Therefore, stay alert and immediately notify the Carabinieri — just dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who, after collecting the money, disappear.
