Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri Offering Fake Magazine Subscriptions

Themselves as Carabinieri when contacting hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurateurs in the Medio and Alto Garda regions, offering subscriptions to magazines affiliated with the agency.

They are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to finance authorities, the police, firefighters, or municipal officers.

How to recognize scams and how to react

They often propose subscriptions to non-existent magazines or those unrelated to law enforcement agencies.

Therefore, be vigilant and immediately notify the real Carabinieri — just dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who,

after obtaining money, disappear without a trace.
