Scammers Pose as Carabinieri in Garda Region to Trick Businesses

They pretend to be Carabinieri when calling hotel owners, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurateurs in the Medio and Alto Garda regions, offering subscriptions to military magazines.

These are not actual military personnel, but scammers who alternately claim to be part of the finance police, police, fire brigade, or municipal officers.

How to identify scams and how to react

They often suggest subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or publications that have no connection to the law enforcement.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the real Carabinieri — just dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who, after receiving money, disappear without a trace.
