Scam Alert: Fake Carabinieri Covertly Offer Magazine Subscriptions

Pretending to be Carabinieri, they contact hoteliers, shop owners, artisans, and restaurateurs in the Middle and Upper Garda regions by telephone, proposing subscriptions to magazines of the force.

These are not military personnel, but fraudsters who, from time to time, claim to belong to finance, police, fire brigade, or municipal officers.

How to recognize scams and how to respond

They often offer subscriptions to non-existent magazines or ones that have nothing to do with the law enforcement.

Therefore, be vigilant and immediately notify the authentic Carabinieri – just dial 112 – as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who, after taking the money, disappear.
