Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri to Target Garda Business Owners

They impersonate Carabinieri when making phone calls to hoteliers, shop owners, artisans, and restaurateurs in Medio and Alto Garda, offering subscriptions to magazines of the arm.

These are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to be from finance, the police, firefighters, or municipal police.

How to recognize scams and how to respond

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or those with no connection to law enforcement.

Therefore, be vigilant and immediately notify the Carabinieri – simply dial 112 – as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who, after taking the money, disappear.
