Scammers Impersonate Police_CONTACT Garda Business Owners and Seek Subscriptions

They impersonate Carabinieri when contacting hoteliers, shop owners, artisans, and restaurant owners in the Middle and Upper Garda areas, proposing subscriptions to magazines associated with the force.

These are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance police, the police, the fire brigade, or the municipal police.

How to recognize scams and how to react

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or ones that have nothing to do with law enforcement forces.

So be cautious and immediately notify the real Carabinieri – simply dial 112 – as soon as you suspect you’ve been targeted by someone who, having received the money, disappears without trace.
