Carabinieri Impersonators Target Garda Businesses Scamming Authorities

They impersonate Carabinieri when calling hoteliers, shop owners, artisans, and restaurateurs in Medio and Alto Garda, offering subscriptions to magazines associated with the force.

These are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance police, police, fire brigade, or municipal police.

How to recognize scams and how to respond

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or those unrelated to the law enforcement.

Therefore, be vigilant and immediately notify the genuine Carabinieri – just dial 112 – as soon as you suspect you’ve been targeted by individuals who, after taking your money, disappear and are no longer visible.
