Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri Offering Fake Magazine Subscriptions

They impersonate Carabinieri when making phone calls to hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurant owners in the Middle and Upper Garda areas, offering subscriptions to magazines of the force.

They are not military personnel but scammers who, each time, claim to belong to the finance police, the police, the fire brigade, or the municipal police.

How to recognize scams and how to react

They often propose subscriptions to non-existent magazines or magazines unrelated to the law enforcement.

So beware and immediately notify the Carabinieri – simply call 112 – as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who, after receiving the money, disappear.
